École George Elliot Secondary is situated in Lake Country, and the school has a proud tradition of excellence that spans more than 60 years. As a community-focused school, we work in close partnership with the District of Lake Country, the RINK Hockey Program, and local organizations such as the RCMP and Lake Country Fire Department to bring community expertise into our classrooms and enhance student learning experiences. Beginning in the 2023–24 school year, we became a dual-track French Immersion school, welcoming our first cohort of Grade 9 French Immersion students from École H.S. Grenda Middle School. This expansion will continue in 2025–26 with the addition of Grade 11, and by 2026– 27, French Immersion programming will be available across all grade levels. Although we are the smallest high school in School District 23, our staff remains committed to innovation, providing unique opportunities and programs that ensure students have a meaningful and rewarding experience in Lake Country while preparing them for success beyond graduation

George Elliot Secondary School offers a strong academic program that prepares students for success in university, college, trades, and the workforce. Students can pursue a full range of humanities, social sciences, sciences, and mathematics courses while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills.
The school also provides dual credit and career pathway opportunities that allow students to earn post-secondary credits and explore future careers while still in high school. With academic planning, post-secondary preparation, and personalized support, students graduate ready to take the next step toward their goals.
ELECTIVES
George Elliot Secondary School offers a wide variety of elective programs, including automotive technology, woodworking, metalwork, photography, and video production, gaining valuable technical and industry-related experience.
The school also provides opportunities in music, theatre, and world languages. Through these diverse elective offerings, students can personalize their educational journey while discovering talents and interests that may lead to future careers and lifelong pursuits.
ATHLETICS
Our school offers a dynamic athletics program that promotes teamwork, leadership, perseverance, and school spirit. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive sports, including volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, and golf, representing the Coyotes in local and regional competition. We also have a partnership with the RINK hockey program, which includes about 100 of our students,

We are a secondary school located in the District of Lake Country. Lake Country is in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Our school of approximately 880 students and is a grades 9 through 12 high school which is part of School District 23 (Central Okanagan).

École George Elliot Secondary has a strong and longstanding partnership with the District of Lake Country, working together to create shared spaces and opportunities that enrich both student learning and community life. Through our Joint Use Agreement, the school and the District collaborate to maximize the use of public facilities, ensuring that valuable community assets are accessible to residents of all ages. The Creekside Theatre, located within George Elliot Secondary School, serves as a vibrant cultural hub for the community, hosting performances, concerts, films, and special events throughout the year. In addition, District of Lake Country recreation programs make use of school and adjacent facilities, providing a wide range of sport, fitness, arts, and wellness opportunities that connect students, families, and community members. Together, this partnership helps make George Elliot Secondary a true centre of community life in Lake Country.
