Dear George Elliot Families,
Welcome to a new school year at École George Elliot Secondary School.
My name is Rob Aviani, and I am honoured to serve as principal of this incredible school community. George Elliot is a special place because of its outstanding students, dedicated staff, supportive families, and strong community partnerships. I feel privileged to continue serving the students and families of Lake Country.
As we begin the school year, I am excited to work alongside our vice principals, Jen Hall and Wynter Oakes. Together with our staff, we are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
The start of a new school year brings a sense of optimism and opportunity. We are especially excited to welcome our newest students to George Elliot and to support every learner as they pursue their academic, athletic, artistic, and personal goals. Whether students are entering Grade 9 or graduating members of our Class of 2027, we are committed to helping them feel connected, challenged, and supported throughout their journey.

As part of our commitment to inclusion and belonging, we will continue to recognize and celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples and to deepen our understanding of truth and reconciliation through meaningful learning opportunities.
We are grateful for the ongoing support of our Parent Advisory Council (PAC), including our new PAC president Rosalyn Hazen. Their dedication helps enrich the educational experiences available to our students, and we encourage all families to learn more about the PAC and consider becoming involved.
Throughout the year, families can stay informed through our weekly emailed school newsletter and website updates. Strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success, and we look forward to working together in support of every learner.
